Ingredients For Lassi Recipe

  • For Makhaniya Lassi

    • 2 tbsp curd

    • 250 ml milk

    • 1 tbsp white butter

    • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

    • ice cubes

    • cardamom powder

  • For Pedha Lassi

    • 4-5 pcs white pedha

    • 1 tsp saffron

    • 1 tsp chopped pistachios

    • 1 tbsp kewra water

    • 3 tbsp curd

    • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

    • 1 tsp cardamom powder

    • 200 ml milk

    • ice cubes

    • chopped pistachios

  • For Mango Lassi

    • 2-3 tbsp curd

    • ½ tbsp sugar powder

    • 1 tsp cardamom powder

    • 3-4 tbsp mango puree

    • 200 ml milk

How to make Lassi Recipe?

  1. To make makhaniya lassi, whisk together curd, milk, white butter, powdered sugar and ice cubes in an earthen pot till the mixture becomes frothy.
  2. Sprinkle some cardamom powder and mix well. Makhaniya lassi is ready.
  3. To make pedha lassi, crush white pedhas in a bowl and add saffron, pistachios, kewra water, curd, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, milk and ice cubes.
  4. Whisk the mixture, add water and whisk again. Pedha lassi is ready. Garnish with crushed pedha and pistachios.
  5. To make mango lassi, take curd in a bowl and add cold water, sugar powder, cardamom powder, mango puree and milk and whisk. Mango lassi is ready.

Lassi is a popular traditional beverage from Punjab. It is made from yogurt (thick curd) to which sugar and some flavourings are added. The curd is whisked till smooth and frothy. Sugar is added for sweetness. 

Sweet and salty are the two main variations of the much-loved lassi. However, in recent years variations like mango lassi, rose lassi, strawberry lassi, pineapple lassi have become popular.
